The Last Butterfly
Photo quote de jour

Change happens. Two days ago, this lone butterfly danced in my sunny garden. Yesterday, a freak storm uprooted a tree in this very spot. These flowers are crushed, and I can only hope the butterfly made a clean getaway to Mexico.

Beautiful picture.. The clarity of the butterfly is to be envied. Nice job.

Thanks for this reminder - I needed this today.
This has been a rough year for the trees in your yard!

You and me both. It was quite the shock.

Great shot. I saw a beauty yesterday and wished I'd had my camera with me. Weather has been crazy here, too. Monday, hot and DRY like an oven, 107 degrees. Next three days, 96, 90, and 92, clouds/sun,hot and humid. Thunder-storm this morning, heavy rain and hail bouncing off my neighbor's roof. Flooded the patio! And this is California!

Thanks and isn't it so strange after the cool summer you had!

Beautiful photo of the monarch butterfly, flowers and lone honey-bee. I hope both critters made it to safely. Thought of you yesterday when I had to escort a mysteriously one-legged cricket to the bushes outside my door. I didn't think to get a photo though.

Ah, you noticed the bee!

Another great quote and photo. Sorry to hear about the tree. We had 4-6 inches of rain here yesterday, but no strong winds.

That's a lot of rain! The two trees were relatively small and luckily missed the wires.

I think the delicate but hardy butterfly made a clean break. Rain today.
