Weird But True Cemeteries

Photo quote de jour

The countdown to Halloween continues...

In the stranger than truth department, I offer you this photo evidence: A hot tub in someone's garden in Dobbs Ferry N.Y. backs onto a cemetery. Can you imagine a moonlight soak? More bizarre, the cemetery backs onto a playground and...

This is the view from the nursery school next door. It gives new meaning to the phrase "From the cradle to the grave".

Gosh to build a preschool or to rent the space right there; spooky; I do love cemeteries.

We have not had dahlias in a long time, or any flowers. We must be a latitude north or so from you.

But incredible photos of flowers and tombstones. Love the red maple leaves in the hands of the stone maidens.

A close friend's house is completely surrounded by cemetery on all sides. Don't know how he can bear to live there. By the way, that's a GREAT quote. I love it.

Layla, LOL! I love cemeteries. The hot tub one, hmmmm....Maybe they believe that you are cleansed from your "sins" by being baptized and so you get to go out of this human realm with the holy baptism again? I think it's actually healthy for young children to see a graveyard. We as a culture are so sanitized with the dying and the dead and as long as it's not shoved down their throats in a harmful way, maybe they'll grow up valuing life more. Thank you as always for the beautiful photos!

Old cemeteries are interesting...but it is a little weird that they have a hot tub overlooking it...
