The Journey Home is Love
Photo quote de jour
Mark Twain once said, "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness." I'll second that and say, travel whether physical (geographic) or metaphoric (inner journey) has its slings and arrows. The thing is: let go of fear and begin the journey, stay aware and keep moving forward. It always amazes me how many people take more time to plan a vacation than their lives. If you're feeling stuck, stop what you're doing and observe. If you can't take a trip for a fresh perspective, go to a new coffee shop, or at least sit in another room or a different chair. Notice what catches your eye. Notice what you love. When our heart speaks remember to take notes. Love/passion/joy is what motivates us to move forward inch by inch. For me, I like to track seasonal changes in nature, like in the images above. They're all different flavors of the same place. They track time. When the leaves fell this year, my inner timekeeper yelled, get off your ass and write, edit, query, get an agent, get published already!
What are you waiting for? Your best life is waiting. Let go of the fear, let go of the rut. I have a plane to catch but I'll leave with a favorite quote from Rumi.

"This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet."

Glad your inter time-keeper is urging you on. I'm looking forward to more, more, more. A photographer friend once told me "if you see nothing worth taking a picture of, turn around and look at what is behind you. " Works every time!

Welcome back, Layla, and what a glorious return! Such excitement, such enthusiasm! A truly beautiful and inspiring post.
(Rumi's words are so similar to this aphorism from my last post: "What is love after all but trusting in the unknown.")
