Curiosity Did Not Kill The Cat
Odin, the seven month-old kitten had never seen snow until last night. The white gobs fascinated him more than his pet rat or any other toy. For my husband and I, snow meant something less fun. Suitably bundled up like Eskimos, we headed out today to plow and shovel from storm that hit the New York area hard.
Domino, our outdoor feral came for breakfast but disappeared afterwards. Normally the large covered porch remains snow-free but the raging storm with high winds had demolished his heated nest and dining area. In my zeal to sweep the snow and repair the damage, Odin slipped out without his sweater, harness or leash, for his first real taste of snow. The front path lay covered in snow as far as the eye could see.
The verdict? He loved it. In fact, he pranced around in ecstasy, buried his face in it, burrowed his paws in it, like a husky. We already knew he loved water from the bathtub, but who knew he'd like the frozen kind. I see more snow in his future and perhaps another photo quote de jour.

I'm glad you made it safely through the storm - I was worried about you. I hope Domino shows up soon.
I love the photo of Odin in the snow. It makes me think of the song "Me and My Shadow."

Good for you Odin to go exploring. You might have picked a little warmer day without all that snow. Boy you people got a lot of that white stuff. I saw a lot of it on the TV. Glad Odin decided he had better come back in. Too cute.

I couldn't believe how much he loved it. I brought him in after a few minutes worried about him getting chilled, but he wanted out again. He'll have to wait until tomorrow.
