What I'm Reading This Week--Feb.27,2011: Do Boring People Have Clean Houses?
Photo quote de jour

This is Tommy, a cat I was cat sitting in Florida recently. He wedged himself inside the bookcase and clearly has good taste in reading material, which is more than I can say about my humor today.
A publicist sent me a soon to be released book on preventing heart disease. Don't be alarmed by the title: Prevent a Second Heart Attack: 8 Foods, 8 Weeks to Reverse Heart Disease. Sure, 13 million Americans have suffered a heart attack, but the advice is useful for anyone who believes in preventative health care. There's the usual heart healthy food suggestions like salmon, walnuts and red wine, but author Janet Bond Brill expounds on useful details such as the pinot noir grape has the most antioxidants of all wines. There are fifty easy to follow and pretty yummy sounding recipes inspired by the Mediterranean diet are included.

If I had a choice of reading, writing or cleaning house which do you think I'd choose? My vote for best book title is: A Perfectly Kept House is a Sign of a Misspent Life. Amen to that.
This gorgeous large book by Mary Randolph Carter has the thickest paper I've seen in a book and chock full of collages and interior shots of homes which share my sentiments about decor and housekeeping. It helps that the author is the creative director of Ralph Lauren. She makes clutter look creative, effortless and chic.
A mere pimple of a mound in magazines his week. Fave? Nat Geo's fascinating article on Paris underground. No, not the Metro but miles of underground passages illegal to the public but intrepid trespassers abound.

That looks like good reading. I sure would like to read the one about preventing a heart attack. The others look good too.
Layla, could you go over to my blog and read yesterday's post. It is about a woman in NY, that broke her neck and has to get rid of all her cats. I didn't know if maybe you could find someone to help find the kitties homes. There is a link on the post about the whole story and pictures. Thanks.

As I told my boyfriend/husband back in the day when we were dating.
"Oh, when you see my apartment, remember I told you that woomen who are good in bed are usually lousy housekeepers."
Both are still true.
I would rather write than do most anything else.

A cat channelling Woody Allen via Groucho Marx. That's hysterical!
