Hope Blooms Again
Photo quote de jour

The escalating tragic news in Japan has left me with a heavy heart. While thinking of the unimaginable loss, I walked outside towards the car. A patch of bright yellow entered the corner of my eye patch. Overnight, the first crocuses popped open and with them, a flutter of hope. No matter how devastating the bad news is now and the days ahead, I'm reminded of how this precious planet has endured countless natural and man made disasters. Instead of focusing on fear, I'm focusing on what we can do practically and spiritually about envisioning a brighter future. More than ever there are reminders of the impermanence and preciousness of life.

My prayers goes to those who have died in this earth quake and tsunami
in Japan. May those who have suffered from
this disaster, may they continue to have
strength to go on and re-build your life. May everyone find peace in their heart. Think peace. Be peace.

Those are such gorgeous crocus. That yellow is just brilliant. It does give hope with all the disaster going on. All we can do is pray for all those people in Japan and hope they can regain their lives somehow.

Marg, thanks if everyone does their bit, they'll be okay. Tragedy brings people together in unexpected ways.

Thank you for this. I'm having an extraordinarily difficult time coping with the news coming out of Japan. Every little reminder like this helps.

Ingrid, I'm feeling compassion fatigue and turning off much of the media blast and going inward with prayer and meditation.

It is horribly tragic, and the nightmare is just beginning. I consider it a blessing I haven't received a NYT alert in a few hours. The Red Cross wants people to text a $10 donation.
I have to look to see if we have any crocuses yet. Or what's poking up.

You're right, I think it's the tip of the iceberg.
