Biggest Full Moon in 20 years
Photo quote de jour

In honor of the biggest full moon in two decades and to mark thoughts and prayers for Japan, I've made two photo quote de jour with poems by 12th century Japanese Buddhist monk and poet, Saigyo. He's one of the greatest masters of the tanka (a traditional Japanese poetic form). The moon is from my garden but the same moon is seen in Japan and elsewhere. One of things I love about the full moon is knowing that billions of very different people around the world share the very same view of the moon, and for that moment, it unites us. For this special moon, let's join together in prayer for peace and healing on our fragile planet.

Your photos reminded me of these lines of Yeats:
.................but no stain
Can come upon the visage of the moon
When it has looked in glory from a cloud."
