How Did It Get So Late So Soon?

Photo quote de jour

Last week I met a friend for dinner at Grand Central Station, famous for the four-sided clock. Normally I pass through quickly like the rest of the crowd in a blur, but she was late arriving from the airport and I enjoyed watching the crowd of oblivious commuters and awestruck photo-snapping tourists. A lovely young man from Milan even snapped my photo. I had so much fun playing tourist the hour wait flew by.
It's Wordless Wednesday so... Wordless Wednesday

God, I'd almost think you are a native New York,er except for your natively sweet personality. Even dressed mostly in black you still have your natural born goodness about you. SO unlike, well - you know - "Youtawkingame???

I have not been inside Grand Central or Penn Stations.

You must remedy that! "Natural born goodness"? LOL I'm not heading towards sainthood anytime soon. Like the moon, I'm light and dark in equal measure.

If you have to wait for an hour, Grand Central is the place to do it. The few times I've passed through there, I've always been on the way to somewhere and had luggage with me, which makes looking around a little less fun, but one of these days, I have to spend an hour or two there just to explore!

Ingrid, there is so much to explore, they have free audio tours now. Here's a secret re: luggage. You can check it at the Campbell Apartment, a bar by the west balcony.

lol. Well, as a tourist, I am not fond of New Yawkers. Probably different if I lived there.

I think most non-native New Yorkers are too sweet for the parts of the city I've visited, like all five boroughs.

If I lived there, I am sure I'd find lovely people. I just find the tension going into the city so thick you can cut it with a knife - and once there, the city is too nervous for me.

Westchester, tho, is really lovely. Could definitely live there.

True, it's tense but in a stimulating way. I'm way too high strung to ever live in the city. Oddly enough, I could live in noisy Paris.

Wonderful pictures, Layla! I'm glad to see the station looking so prosperous and active. I remember several years back in the 70s when it always felt so dead in there.

I don't recall being there then but I do remember New York having a roughness that's now been polished to shine.
