Fresh Start Zen

Photo quote de jour

Yesterday I was running late for an appointment. I hate being late and felt stress cramping my back and neck. In my haste, I missed a turn and got lost in a residential area of Scarsdale, known for large private properties. With my phone and GPS wonky, I had no idea where I was and there was no one around. Around and around I drove feeling a silent scream building like a scene from The Twilight Zone.

It's easy to dispense  "just breathe" advice until it hits you sideways. Several lifetimes later my phone worked and I re-sheduled my appointment for another day. It took me an hour to find my way home which normally would take under ten minutes. Clearly rattled, I decided to re-think my afternoon and have a fresh start. I stopped at my favorite park to capture the earliest signs of cheery blossoms fresh from a light rain. We often think of spring as a time when we can begin anew, but we can choose to have a fresh start any time. I decided to take my own advice (see my Tuesday post).

Beautiful photos, and excellent advice. Sometimes, "just breathe" can be enough to get negative energy unstuck, but at other times, a fresh start, especially one involving nature, is what we need. I love the idea that a fresh start doesn't have to be something major, it can just, literally, be a walk in the park.

Ingrid, the beauty is the fresh start can be the tiniest action but as buds prove, tiny things grow into big things!

    I hate getting lost, too.

Your blooms! Your climate is so much warmer than ours. Interesting, too, that Bob (Elizabeth E) has a much warmer climate than where I am, only 90 minutes south of me. We have no blooms, but my seeds germinated in two days. Happy~!

Layla, love how you turned that whole incident around and redeemed the remainder of your day. That's the magical power we always have at our fingertips.
