What I'm Reading This Week & Mother's Day

Quote de jour
"All moms can read you like book."

After an entire week without my computer, I'm thrilled to have my baby back virus-free.  Being barely online this week had it's up side. I soaked up nature's beauty (see below) and read outside as much as possible.

Happy Mother's Day and that includes you pet moms!

The book with the most gorgeous cover this week was sent by a publicist. The paper has a sensuous silky feel which reminds me why I haven't bought a Kindle or Nook yet. The Moral Lives of Animals by science writer Dale Peterson and Jane Goodall's authorized biographer proposes that animals have moral lives similar to humans as a result part of evolution. While well researched and chock full of anecdotes from exotic locales, the writing is rambling and wordy.

I didn't expect to enjoy a memoir about Christina Haag's love affair with J.F.K Jr. but Come to the Edge is wistful and wise. She shares an insider view of the Kennedy world of privilege with grace and restraint while discretely revealing juicy details of pot-smoking and sexuality.www.christinahaag.com

I love the moon and moonlight so imagine finding a new book all about the spellbinding charm of the moon. Nocturne: A Journey in Search of Moonlight by Attlee is an intellectual meditation full of fascinating facts about the moon as he travels the globe. The best part for me was his magical experience of the Autumnal lunar festival in Japan.
