Are You Ready To Soar?
photo quote de jour

Every photo quote de jour has a back story. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes subtle, but always open to interpretation. Regular readers know I do shamanic work with power or totem animals. Animals impart messages and offer life lessons, if we're open to seeing them. Last week, after strolling on a nature trail, I walked the nearby labyrinth and asked for a spiritual message and guidance. Usually, I'll see at least one animal messenger, but this time, none. I felt shortchanged and implored out loud, "Where is my message?" I looked up and a red-tailed hawk swooped down out of nowhere. He circled low around me twice, screeched and flew out of sight. "Thank-you", I said, feeling sheepish for being so demanding. The message I received was about how limiting thoughts and beliefs restrict our ability to soar above our lives with clarity. When we let go and soar, it allows us to get another perspective of the "big picture". By leaving the safety of the ground and trusting our abilities to soar, we can rise above challenges and move forward. I stared, mesmerized by his/her effortless movement. So moved, I forgot to focus my camera and click until he was almost out of frame.
I am blessed to be surrounded by many talented, creative women, but lately some of these exceptional women have doubted their talents or wondered if it's too pushy to "soar." Are you hiding your talents. Are you ready to soar?

If you look at the sky there is so much room for everyone to soar!! Yet we all stay firmly rooted to the ground, bumping into one another, getting territorial et al. Why don't they / we fly?! I want to see the sky filled with eagles!
