If You Rest, You Rust
It's Friday the 13th and this could be your lucky day. If you've journeyed with me this week, you might want to scroll back to Monday's post and look at the image of the road again. We end a week of exploring movement and transformation by coming full circle. At the end of the road is an old rusting Chevy perennially parked at the end of Clinton Ave. I've traveled down this road a gazillion times but never stopping until a recent rainy day with blossoms dripping and the pavement slick. The license reads Cheap 52, and I'm certain if this car could talk, it would curl your eyelashes with stories. Cars from the '40s and '50s have feminine curves and heft which inspired this image and the more artsy one below. This faded, rusty beauty spoke to me about motoring on with life. If you're stuck, do what you need to do to get unstuck. Get an oil change, tires rotated or get towed if need be, but keep moving or else because...

Brings back memories of my much older brother, who always had a monster like that parked in our driveway. How he loved his cars! But you can bet there was never a spot of rust on any one of them.
