Cat Saturday Ends On High Note

It's always good to end on a high note. The Boomer Muse lives on, but this is the last Cat Saturday.  As you may know, it's being replaced with Cat Wisdom 101, but that's not all. Odin wants to tell you himself.

We have Jackson Galaxy of Animal Planet's My Cat From Hell to thank for Odin's flirtation with fame. After my chat and interview with Jackson (posted May 7th), I felt a kinship with a fellow animal communicator and cat lover. Things move fast in media, and before you could say meow, Jackson climbed had out of limo in front of my house with his trademark guitar case stuffed full of cat toys and a publicist from Animal Planet. From a convoy of other vehicles emerged a producer, camera crew and Aasif Mandvi, the correspondent from The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. It proved too exciting for Domino and Gris Gris who fled to parts unknown until the shoot was over. Merlin refused to cooperate and like they say, if you snooze, you lose. That left Odin to save the day.

Odin felt at utterly at home with eight strange men, miles of cables, lights, camera and action and oddly enough, so did I.

They were there to film a segment for The Daily Show, airing in June TBA. Aasif did his usual deadpan mock interview. Jackson played it straight and I had fun, is all I'll say. Three hours of shooting indoors and in the garden will get edited down to maybe five minutes, and mercifully (if there is a God) not more than a few seconds of me making a fool of myself. Jackson is a sweet bear of the man and we enjoyed hanging on the porch. All three episodes of My Cat From Hell airs tonight on Animal Planet, so get yourself to a sofa and watch so it'll get renewed. Your cat will thank you.
