Everything is Coming Up Roses

Everything is coming up roses literally, but at a cost. On the weekend, I drenched myself in eau de rose from the spectacular multi-ringed rose garden at Lyndhurst the historic estate in Irvington New York. Can we say peak experience?

Photo quote de jour

The dizzying array of varieties, the sheer volume of blossoms and the fragrances from barely there to rich honeyed
cinnamon intoxicated. In my stupor, I lost my mind and that's not all.

I didn't pay attention to a valuable brooch I'd pinned to my hat. I could feel something flapping every time I bent over to get another shot but I ignored it. I don't have a lot of jewelry but this was a favorite piece. Past tense. The cost of rose heaven was the loss of this treasure. Was it worth it?  Didn't someone once say, they'd rather have roses on the table than diamonds around their neck? The jury is out on this one.
