Excellent question. I am a multi-path person, and I always try to take a straight path, but with many threads or sub shoots off of it. Both can be true. Great photo.

I do the same thing. It works sometimes but the threads can lead to distractions like FB

A straight path or crocked one depends on the urgency I am confronted with. Give me the curvey road anytime that it is possible. Stops along the way to take pictures or a drink from a mountain spring. Yes. It has gotten me in trouble, but it is worth the pain and agony. So much is experienced and learned.
