Ladybug Luck For You

Photo quote de jour

Whether you believe it the folklore or not, lady bugs are the only bug I can think of that doesn't scare or creep out most people. As a child, my mother would sing me a lullaby about ladybugs and I've been fascinated with these flying polka dots ever since. Yesterday, while poking about the garden, I saw this beauty in her cozy nest and wanted to share my ladybug luck with you because you just never know, good luck hides in unexpected places.
  • Cultures all over the world consider ladybugs good luck if one lands on you. You'll get a wish granted.
  • If a ladybug will take the illness away if you are ill when one lands on you.
  • Let the ladybug go and watch which way she flies and that is the way your answer lays.
  • Finding a ladybug is good luck, the redder the better.
  • Killing a ladybug will bring you sadness and misfortune.
  • For the French and English farmers, indicate good weather.
  • Many farmers consider ladybugs good luck because they eat insects that damage crops.
  • The ladybug will bring good luck with finding your true love in Sweden and other countries.
  • Some Asian countries believe that the ladybug has been blessed by God and understands human language.
  • During the pioneer days, if a ladybug was found in their log cabin during the winter, it was considered a good omen.

Thanks for this, Layla. I have a special love for ladybugs too, and in fact just encountered about 3 in a row on a walk on Tuesday. I didn't know they were good luck and full of lore, how cool.
I like your style. I'm looking forward to your Cat Wisdom site too.

Love the coincidence here. Last week, a ladybug landed in the palm of my hand and I felt thoroughly grateful and blessed because of it. There is something so unique and inspiring about these lovely little creatures.
