End of the Day Smile

So I'm strolling up Park Avenue on Monday with a smile on my face at the end of the Finnish Documentary Film Festival. http://www.docpoint.info/en I'm a major film buff and love seeing obscure foreign films that sadly, never see the light of day. It's difficult for little films to get big distributors, but what a joy they are to see. After all the film festivals I've been to, it's the unsung heroes, the unseen jewels that remain in my heart. I loved a stunning short film about illegal workers from Africa who are hired to pick vegetables in Spain for European markets but live on the street. My favorite film was the jaw-dropping bizarre world of Turkmenistan depicted in the film,The Holy Book.http://newsreel.org/video/SHADOW-OF-THE-HOLY-BOOK

The entrance to Grand Central Station looked bathed in gold and I realized, the sun must be setting at just past eight. Ah, the summer countdown to longer and longer evenings continues. A few more steps and I reached another urban canyon and my jaw dropped again. There it was, an end of the day smile and the next...
