Lavender Lies?
While researching today's photo quote de jour, I came across a disturbing similarity of a Shakespeare quote with a passage from one of my favorite books. Do we dare to compare?
"There's a few things I've learned in life: always throw salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for good luck, and fall in love whenever you can"
~Shakespeare
"There are some things, after all, that Sally Owens knows for certain: Always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder. Keep rosemary by your garden gate. Add pepper to your mashed potatoes. Plant roses and lavender for luck. Fall in love whenever you can."
~Alice Hoffman from Practical Magic

I have also heard that lavender helps to keep fleas away. I need to get busy and plant some of it.

That's true. You can use a tiny drop of the essential oil, rub in on your hands and stroke it over the cat's fur.

The two passages: probably a case of unconscious plagiarism. Been guilty of it myself on more than one occasion. Lavender is one of my favorite colors.

Funny how the mind works. It's one of my favorite colors and herbs. It's blooming like mad right now.
