Celebrate Summer!

Photo quote de jour

The word celebrate entered English in 1465, coming from Latin celebratus, the past participle of celebrare, which originally meant 'attend in great numbers, thronged, frequented or well-known.' June seems to have a bounty of reasons to celebrate; from graduations, end of the school year, weddings and of course today, the summer solstice, the first day of summer, ushering in a season of picnics and barbeques, ice cream cones and barefoot days, vacations and swimming pools. To celebrate is to give thanks, and why wait for a special occasion?

There are endless things to celebrate every day this summer from bird songs, cool breezes on hot days, flowers of every color in the rainbow blooming, butterflies, lingering sunsets.... you get the picture. Toss your hat in the air and think of new ways to celebrate summer this year!
