Everyone has a favorite pizza joint and mine is Pepe's Pepespizzeria.com The original place opened in New Haven in 1925 with a coal-fired oven giving a unique crispness for their lopsided oval pies. They've duplicated the oven in several locations including the one I frequent in Yonkers N.Y. Normally, I like a red pizza like their fresh tomato and basil, but last week we ordered their spinach, mushroom and gorgonzola. Not only was it a slice of pizza heaven, but it inspired today's photo quote de jour for Westchester Wednesdays.

Interesting how many ways one can make the famed Italian pie. My favorite restaurant pizza is Uno's pepperoni with sun dried tomatoes.
