Make Waves
Photo quote de jour

I spent a relaxing day at the beach yesterday playing hooky from the million little obligations called life. No social media, email or cell phone calls or texts (okay two short ones). Sometimes we need to break away and not make waves. Sometimes we need help to make waves. Knowing when to unplug is the biggest gift we can give ourselves. When I returned back online, I found no catastrophes waiting. In fact, the world got along just fine without me. I'd even found out I'd won a little contest. When we take a break from the things we think we can't live without, we actually find more life.

I'm glad you decided to take a break. Unplugging is hard for those of us whose work depends on being online, using social media, etc. Add in working for yourself, and the lines blur even more.
I need to find more ways to unplug without getting twitchy!

Exactly. Working from home blurs boundaries. If you get crackberry twitchy, do it for shorter but more frequent periods of time.

Spot on. When we were in Montreal, we took semi breaks from technology. I only went online briefly for two days the week I was there. It was wonderful.
Love the photo.
