Summer's Last Kiss
Technically, summer ends on September 23 at 5:05 A.M. EDT, but I'm hoping to stretch time. The forest is thinning and a few leaves are turning red, but you'll never think summer is ending after seeing this green scene. On a recent early evening walk, I was treated to these trees and lawn, back lit in a final cloak of emerald. I know it won't last much longer but, it did my heart good and hopefully yours.
Photo quote de jour

"back lit in a cloak of emerald..."-that's beautiful. There's still plenty to see up here before the last leaf falls-fields of goldenrod, blue asters and queen anne's lace. The little white butterflies seem especially busy imbibing their last drafts of honey.

I bet you're savoring it all like a honey bee.

The hole in the tree is like a heart.

Good observation. I'll see if I can post a close up.
