Occupy No More
Two months ago today, I blogged about my visit to Zuccotti Park occupy-wall-street---two-views They're all gone: the tents, drums, protest signs and the people who occupied the park near Wall Street. In their place cold granite gleams, a Christmas tree twinkles without a trace of what transpired. In the second image below, I wanted to transform what was already starkly unrecognizable into something new as a reminder that everything is in a constant state of flux.
The protesters may be gone but their spirit lives on in a movement that took on a global life of its own, one occupy X at a time. The public park (that turned out to be not so public), will live on symbolically of a movement that is far from over. There is long road ahead and who knows where it will lead but I'd agree with the words of FDR who said in his first inaugural address, "Action and Action Now!"

The Occupy protests have been very civil where I live. There's been mutual respect between the demonstrators and the police. Tents were set up in a local park and no attempt has been made to rout the protestors. Makes me proud to live in this little, hippie town in central NY.
The second photo is extraordinary.

Thank-you. I like your neck of the woods.

You created warmth and hope out of a barren image.
