Three Rules For a Happier Life
Photo quote de jour
Who knew this timeless quote was from Einstein? To me his three rules of work are three rules for a happier life. The principles remain true today whether you adhere to the rules of feng shui or plain good design. When I was in art/design school (feels like several lifetimes ago) my favorite quotes were from: the architect Mies Van der Rohe "Less is more," and Leonardo da Vinci, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."
Nothing has changed. It's as true today. Perhaps more than ever. Clutter is essentially stuck energy. The word "clutter" derives from the Middle English word "clotter," which means to coagulate -like blood and other ooey gooey things. Think about that and think how free you'll feel with less clutter. Think small. One corner. One drawer at a time. Even small actions will bring you one big step closer to your dreams.

Yeah, that's not my office. I love the pair of macs and a cozy sofa near by for reading.

"Diogenes threw away his cup when he saw a child drinking from the fountain with his hands." Layla, it's no exaggeration to say that simplicity has been my grand passion, paradoxical as that may sound.

Not paradoxical at all.
